Hey everyone, this last week we have been working on our leaver slides. A leaver slide is a speech that the year sixes have to say because they are going to intermediate next year. We had to make a speech and a slide with some photos of us. This year we had to do a screen castify because of covid and the adults aren't allowed to come.
Hi everyone, We had eotc week these last couple of weeks. The year 5 and 6 came on most of the days the year 4 came on one of the days that we had eotc. We did lots of other things. My favorite thing about eotc week is that we don't have to do any school work. We would listen to music on the bus. Hello everyone, after doing the poems for the festival of flowers we did some other stuff like drawing a flower or a vegetable or make a model of ether one of those with Lego or clay. This week we have been doing different poems. We did 3 different types of poems. One was a Flower Cinquain for the festival of flowers, we had to do flowers I did was a sunflower and a rose. The next poem we did was a Haiku Poem we had to do a different flower from the Flower Cinquain I did lavender and sweet pea flower. the last poem that we did was a limerick and mine is about a deer drinking a beer. here is a photo of my haiku poem.

Hey everyone, today the school did a virtual assembly on google meet. I got to sit in the library because I was getting a personal best Certificate. There were some other people that weren't getting a Certificate but instead they got something else. For example some people got an award to be a Trusted Trekker. Some others had to sing the Karakia. I couldn't get a photo of everyone together with their certificates but this is what my certificate looks like.

Hey everyone, this week we have been working on music notes. We learnt about the music symbols and what letters they are. we made words with music symbols. We also did what music symbols mean in our words. My teacher gave us the task that we had to do a 3 letter word, 4 letter word and a 5 letter word with the notes. Kia ora, The last few weeks the class has been working on paper mache I wasn't here for most of it. When I came back to school I had to join a group with one person in it. I chose the Takahe. My buddy's name is Leala. She did the shaping and both of us did the sticking paper on and paint on. On Friday we showed it in assembly. Hey guys and girls, This week in reading we have been learning about different types of family's. We had to do a Venn Diagram about one of our siblings. But because I don't have a brother or a sister I did it about my friend. My friend did it with me because her brother is Australia and she doesn't know munch about her brother. hey guys and girls, Today we did hand writing and our hand writing was a 100 word count. It was about a man who was in the war. He sacrifice his self for his friend and got shout. Hey everyone, Yesterday for topic we had a piece of paper and a crayon. Before the class got there crayon and paper you had to pick buddy. We had to put the piece of paper on the trunk of the tree that we liked the look of. I scribbled on the the paper to make a print of the tree pattern in one square the the teacher made. It was pouring with rain outside. My family was stuck inside playing board games. A flash of light, then, darkness. “Oh no the power went out, what do we do?” said Mum. Everyone was scared out of their minds. ‘Boom’ suddenly lightning hit the roof . My dad ran as fast as he could up the stars to the roof. The lightning made a hole in the roof. He ran inside panicking and screaming. Everyone was confused. He walked up to the family with a depressed face. He explained what happened and called up the fire department, they took us away.
hi everyone, This year we had to make new name tags for the cubes in our class room. They had our names with dark lettering with a design that we liked. My one was green with vines on it. Some people did the same ones as others to copy there friends. The background had to be lighter than the lettering so that you can see it from a long distance. Hey everyone, I'm back at school now. My class has been working on letter. We had to write a letter to the people that we spent time with over the holiday. My teacher sent everyone a document we had to say are thank yous to them. A lot of other people did a thank you letter to there mum and dad. I did it to my koro its Maori for granddad. Hey everyone, Yesterday we had cross county. We had to run 2 kilometres around Kyle park. The year 6 boys went first and the year 6 girls went after. Teachers where on the side line cheering us on as we ran past. Some kids brought there drink bottles. Before we ran I took of my jersey and hat. Sorry there are no photos.
The last few weeks we have been doing news reports. You had to make your story that sound like a news report. We watched a video and wrote about it. I did my planning first then started writing. A week ago the amazing Duffy Theatre came to our school. We walked over to the gym. the people said that it took them 8 hours to get to Christchurch from Auckland. They had a set up with moving boards . The people told us a lot about them. They did a play about Bubble Trouble, it was based on lock down. Duffy walked in screaming, “Where are you moo molly”? Arede mooed as she walked in.``Oh there you are “ Duffy said. He grabbed his book and started reading how to milk a cow. “Moo'' Molly screamed as she shot off the set.Once the play was finished we asked them questions. some kids found it very funny and I didn't.
Hi every, a few weeks ago Miss Scott gave out mandalas to everyone. We coloured in the blank spots with a colour of our choice. then you had to write five goals that you want to accomplish this year. I picked one theme colour, it was green and my friend pick blue. Here is a photo of my mandala.
